Insurance Society of Philadelphia Independence Gala
Thank you for your support together we made our 2022 Gala a success!
On Tuesday, October 25, nearly 600 guests gathered together for the first in-person Independence Gala hosted by the Insurance Society of Philadelphia (ISOP) since 2019. In the elegance of the Crystal Tea Room, the Philly insurance community came together to raise over $430,000 for ISOP which helps contribute funds directly to our scholarship program, celebrated the 2022 Distinguished Leader Award winner, Mike Tiagwad of Conner Strong & Buckelew, and raise an additional $21,000+ for the Philadelphia Department Foundation for Fire Prevention Program which supplies low-income families with smoke detectors.

The Insurance Society of Philadelphia’s Independence Gala is the premier fundraising and networking event celebrating the insurance and risk management industry, our local community and the leaders and organizations who embody its highest ideals and to continue our legacy of public service and saving lives.
Gala proceeds benefit the Insurance Society’s 100th Anniversary Scholarship Fund by providing scholarships to local risk management and insurance students to help educate the next generation of industry professionals.
In addition, the Independence Gala supports the Philadelphia Fire Department Foundation for Fire Prevention Program through Text-to-Pledge donations made during the evening. Donations fund in the purchase and installation of smoke detectors in homes throughout the city in hopes of saving lives.
Lastly, the Insurance Society utilizes the Independence Gala as a platform to honor a key contributor in the insurance community by granting the Distinguished Leader Award. The Award recognizes one who demonstrates exemplary leadership, has promoted the stature of the insurance and associated industries in the community, and global marketplace, and who has provided ongoing support to community events and charitable enterprises.
